The short version: Oyomap is local-first. We do not sell personal information, use cross-app tracking, or use your memories for advertising. We use limited Firebase analytics and crash diagnostics to understand app usage and stability.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Oyomap ("Oyomap," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Oyomap iOS app, this website, or contact support.
2. Information processed on your device
With the permissions you choose to grant, Oyomap may process the following locally on your Apple device:
- photos, videos, and Live Photos selected from your photo library;
- PhotoKit asset identifiers and media metadata, including capture date and embedded location;
- stories, captions, friend profiles, app settings, and autoplay selections;
- face crops, numerical face embeddings, visual feature data, and scene classifications used to organize memories; and
- cached images, map state, and other data needed to display and play your stories.
This content is stored in the app's local container or referenced from your Photos library. Oyomap does not operate a user account, cloud photo library, or custom server that receives this content.
3. Information collected by services
| Service | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | App screens and feature actions, engagement, app/device/OS details, installation identifiers, and service-derived coarse region signals. We do not include photo IDs, names, captions, precise coordinates, face data, or search text in events. | Understand aggregate feature use and improve the app. |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash stack traces, app/device/OS details, and allow-listed categorical diagnostics. We intentionally exclude user content and raw error payloads. | Diagnose crashes and reliability problems. |
| Firebase Remote Config | Technical request metadata such as app version, language, time zone, OS, and installation identifiers handled by Firebase. | Safely deliver app configuration. |
| Apple services | MapKit and geocoding may receive map regions or coordinates requested by the app. StoreKit handles purchase and subscription information under Apple's terms. | Display maps and process App Store purchases. |
| Support and feedback | Information you voluntarily include when emailing us or opening a feedback form. Feedback forms may be hosted by Asana. | Respond to requests and improve Oyomap. |
Analytics and crash reporting are enabled in the current release. Firebase's automatic screen inference, advertising personalization signals, and Google Ads on-device conversion event data are disabled.
4. How we use information
We use information only to provide and improve Oyomap, maintain security and reliability, process purchases through Apple, answer support requests, comply with law, and protect our users and rights.
5. When information is shared
We share limited information with service providers only as needed to operate Oyomap: Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and configuration; Apple for Photos, maps, geocoding, and purchases; and Asana if you choose to submit a hosted feedback form. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if legally required or necessary to protect users, Oyomap, or others. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs.
6. Retention
- On-device content: retained until you delete the relevant content or uninstall Oyomap, subject to copies that remain in your Photos library or device backups.
- Analytics: identifiable event-level data is retained for no longer than 14 months. Aggregated reports that no longer identify an individual installation may remain longer.
- Crash diagnostics: retained only as long as reasonably needed to investigate reliability and subject to Firebase's service controls.
- Support and feedback: retained while needed to answer your request and for reasonable product and legal recordkeeping, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
7. Your choices and rights
- Use iOS Settings to grant full, limited, or no Photos access and to change that choice later.
- Delete stories and friend profiles in the app, or uninstall Oyomap to remove its local app container.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account's subscription settings.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable privacy law.
Because Oyomap has no user account and keeps memory content on your device, we may not possess or be able to identify that local content. Deleting the app does not delete originals from your Photos library.
8. Children
Oyomap is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a user account. If you believe a child has provided information through support or feedback, contact us so we can address it.
9. International processing
Our service providers may process limited service data in countries other than where you live. Those providers use their own legal safeguards for international transfers.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to limit the data collected and protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Oyomap changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
